The China Academy of Engineering Physics convened the 9th Academic Degree Evaluation Committee's winter meeting in 2023.

On December 22, 2023, the 9th Academic Degree Evaluation Committee of the China Academy of Engineering Physics convened its winter meeting at the Jiulong Hotel in Mianyang Science City. Nineteen committee members were present, and the meeting was presided over by Academician Changpu Sun, the Chairman of the Degree Evaluation Committee.

The meeting deliberated on the applications for doctoral and master's degree conferral for December 2023 in our institute. The Academic Degrees Office presented an overview of the proposed degree conferrals. Committee members engaged in a comprehensive discussion on issues arising during the degree evaluation process and put forward specific recommendations for improvement. Following a vote, the committee agreed to confer doctoral degrees upon 30 individuals, including Zhaoxin Chen, and master's degrees upon 5 individuals, including Penghui Liu.

The meeting also reviewed applications for the addition of new doctoral supervisors in 2023. After a vote, the committee approved the inclusion of 34 individuals, including Yunjun Gu, as doctoral supervisors in our institute.

Additionally, the committee received a report from ten institutions regarding the application for the establishment of a doctoral degree authorization point in the field of Engineering Mechanics. Committee members extensively discussed details such as research direction settings and mentorship team construction for these ten institutions. Following a vote, the committee agreed to establish a doctoral degree authorization point in Engineering Mechanics for these institutions.
