On February 5, the eighth day of the first lunar month in the Year of the Snake, Secretary ZeYao Mo of the Party Committee, on behalf of the leadership team of the China Academy of Engineering Physics (CAEP), visited the Graduate School to extend New Year greetings to Academician Changpu Sun and returning staff members.
During the visit, Secretary Mo warmly conveyed New Year blessings to the Graduate School’s staff, expressing gratitude for their contributions over the past year, congratulating them on their achievements, and wishing them continued success and prosperity in the year ahead.
Secretary Mo emphasized that the report of CAEP’s 10th Party Congress fully recognized the accomplishments of the Graduate School under the leadership of Academician Sun and the school’s management team, particularly in pioneering the integration of science and education. Among the "Twelve Assurances" outlined in the report, the structured development of fundamental research and talent cultivation placed high expectations on the Graduate School. He encouraged the school to further integrate with CAEP’s research institutes and to position graduate education as a crucial element in ensuring a secure and robust talent pipeline.
Secretary Mo further stated that CAEP’s "15th Five-Year Plan" aims to establish strongholds in both science and talent, with the Graduate School playing a critical role in this initiative. In terms of scientific advancement, the Graduate School boasts a high-caliber research team specializing in the integration of science and education and should actively promote the development of distinctive disciplines and research groups. Regarding talent cultivation, the school must enhance graduate education, strengthen the mentoring system, and improve the scientific and engineering literacy of technical and research personnel, fostering interdisciplinary talent. He urged the Graduate School to continue deepening the integration of science and education, aligning itself with CAEP’s core value chain, and striving for new heights, assuring full support from the Party Committee for its development.
Following the visit, Academician Changpu Sun and Deputy Dean Libin Fu (Acting Head of Administration) conveyed the key messages from CAEP’s 10th Party Congress and the 2025 Work Conference. They analyzed the current landscape, opportunities, and challenges facing the Graduate School. Deputy Dean Fu highlighted the directives from President Yingbo He at the Work Conference, particularly the call to "start the year at full speed and sprint ahead from the outset." He outlined the Graduate School’s key priorities for the year and urged all faculty and staff to work under the leadership of the CAEP Party Committee and administration, guided by Academician Sun and the Graduate School’s management team. With greater enthusiasm, stronger resolve, and a pragmatic approach, he called on everyone to accelerate the implementation of 2025 initiatives to ensure a strong and successful start to the year.
