To thoroughly implement the spirit of the 10th CAEP Party Congress and the first meeting of the 10th CAEP Academic Degree Evaluation Committee, the Graduate School successfully held a Faculty Advisor Training and Graduate Education Workshop at the Beijing Software Park campus from August 13 to 14, 2025. More than 70 graduate advisors and education administrators from across the academy attended.
At the opening ceremony, Jialiang Ni, Party Secretary of the Graduate School, delivered remarks emphasizing that advisor training is a critical opportunity to enhance advisors’ ability to fulfill their responsibilities and to standardize the graduate training process. He expressed his hope that CAEP advisors will apply the knowledge gained from this training to produce tangible improvements in graduate education.
The training program featured invited talks by Professor Yunquan Liu of Peking University, Researcher Yangjun Ying of the Ninth Institute, Researcher Renbiao Tao of the High-Tech Center, and Dr. Kaiwen Xu, founder of Daru Psychology. Their presentations focused on three major themes: cultivating innovative talent, supporting mental health education, and fostering the growth of young advisors. In addition, business divisions of the Graduate School provided in-depth briefings on graduate admissions procedures, key training stages, and student management regulations, clearly outlining the full-cycle requirements for graduate education and providing a solid foundation for standardizing future work.
During the workshop session, representatives from graduate training units held intensive discussions on key challenges in graduate education management. The First Institute, Fourth Institute, and Eighth Institute shared innovative practices in laboratory construction, quality control in training, and daily student management, sparking lively exchanges among participants.
This training and workshop closely aligned with the current theme of “value-driven graduate education.” It provided significant guidance on improving faculty advisors’ mentoring capabilities, refining standardized management processes, and solving practical issues. Going forward, the Graduate School will continue to strengthen the advisor training system, institutionalize business workshops, and innovate management methods and service models to promote the high-quality development of graduate education and contribute to cultivating more top-level innovative talent for the nation.
