The launch meeting for the 2023 NSAF (National Natural Science Foundation of China) Joint Fund Key Supported Projects was successfully held. The NSAF Joint Fund is jointly established by the National Natural Science Foundation Committee and the China Academy of Engineering Physics. Its aim is to attract and mobilize excellent domestic research teams to focus on fundamental issues related to national strategic needs and scientific research in relevant fields, conducting forward-looking interdisciplinary research. Recently, in accordance with the requirements of the NSAF Joint Fund Management Office, the Graduate School of the Chinese Academy of Sciences organized a series of project launch meetings for the 2023 NSAF Key Supported Projects, detailing annual plans, objectives, and establishing mechanisms for communication and collaboration. The launch meeting received guidance and support from the NSAF Joint Fund Management Office, and Ms. Liu Dongyan, Director of the Research and Technology Department of the Chinese Academy of Sciences, shared the original intention behind the establishment of the NSAF Joint Fund and its latest management requirements, providing guidance for subsequent management work.

In 2023, three projects under Direction 4 of the NSAF Key Supported Projects were funded, and as the responsible unit for Direction 4, the Graduate School organized three project teams to convene on February 24, 2023, in Mianyang for a joint project launch meeting. Attendees included Academician Sun Changpu, the leader of the NSAF expert group and the Dean of the Graduate School, responsible experts from each project, Ms. Liu Dongyan from the Research and Technology Department of the Chinese Academy of Sciences, project team members, and relevant management personnel. The meeting was chaired by Researcher Fu Libin, the Vice Dean of the Graduate School.

The project "Ultrafast Spectroscopic Detection of Irreversible Process Dynamics" affiliated with the Graduate School of the Chinese Academy of Sciences is led by Researcher Dong Hui, with the participation of Researcher Zhang Wenkai from Beijing Normal University and Associate Researcher Wang Zhuan from the Institute of Physics, Chinese Academy of Sciences. During the meeting, Researcher Dong Hui, along with the project leaders from the other two projects under Direction 4 of the NSAF Key Supported Projects, provided detailed introductions on the project background, research objectives, implementation plans, and development schedules. Academician Sun Changpu presided over the summary and discussion session, where experts and project team members freely exchanged ideas and engaged in in-depth discussions.

On March 5, 2023, the launch meeting for the project "Ultrasound Guided Monitoring and Evaluation of Interlayer Stress Relaxation in Multilayered Heterogeneous Pre-stressed Spherical Structures" funded under Direction 2 of the NSAF Key Supported Projects was held in Beijing. The project, based on the Graduate School of the Chinese Academy of Sciences, is jointly undertaken with the General Engineering Institute of the Chinese Academy of Sciences and Beihang University. Attendees included the project leader, external experts, Ms. Liu Dongyan and Mr. Duan Wentao from the Research and Technology Department of the Chinese Academy of Sciences, project team members, and relevant management personnel.
