On September 29, 2024, to celebrate the 40th anniversary of graduate education at the China Academy of Engineering Physics (CAEP), the Graduate School Party Branch of CAEP, in collaboration with the senior student party branches from various training units in the Beijing area, successfully held a distinctive graduate academic salon. The event aimed to strengthen academic exchange among graduate students in the Beijing area, promote knowledge sharing and the collision of ideas, while also fully leveraging the combatant role of the Party branches.

The academic salon adopted a poster presentation format, making academic exchanges more intuitive and interactive. Graduate students from the Graduate School, Beijing High Pressure Science Research Center, Beijing Computational Science Research Center, and the Institute of Applied Physics and Computational Mathematics in Beijing actively participated, submitting 25 high-quality posters. The four senior student party branches in the Beijing area demonstrated strong organizational power and appeal. Party members led by example, actively participating and sharing their research findings. Over 80 faculty and students attended the academic salon.

During the two-and-a-half-hour enthusiastic exchange, participants actively discussed, and the atmosphere was lively, achieving in-depth intellectual exchange and knowledge sharing. Exquisite cold meals were also provided, allowing participants to enjoy delicious food while immersing themselves in the academic feast. Graduate students who participated generally expressed that the academic salon not only provided them with a platform to showcase themselves and engage in learning exchanges, but also helped improve their research capabilities, as well as communication and presentation skills. The in-depth discussions with peers not only broadened their academic horizons but also gave them a clearer understanding and grasp of current academic frontiers.

The active participation of graduate students in the Beijing area contributed to the great success of the event, showcasing the academic enthusiasm and unlimited potential of the younger generation at CAEP. This event not only provided a valuable learning opportunity for graduate students from training units in the Beijing area but also laid a solid foundation for future academic salon events.
