To thoroughly implement the strategic directives of the 20th National Congress of the Communist Party of China and the Third Plenary Session of the 20th Central Committee—particularly the integrated advancement of education, science & technology, and talent—and to act upon the requirements of the Plan for Building a Powerful Nation in Education, a delegation from the Graduate School of China Academy of Engineering Physics (GSCAEP), led by Deputy Dean Libin Fu (acting in charge of administrative work), visited the University of Chinese Academy of Sciences (hereinafter “UCAS”) on the morning of October 10 to conduct a research and exchange program on graduate education.
Jinpeng Jin, Vice President of UCAS, extended a warm welcome to the GSCAEP delegation and provided an overview of UCAS’s approach to talent development, covering historical evolution, organizational structure, faculty team development, the dual-phase training model, international cooperation and exchange, and alumni affairs. Deputy Dean Libin Fu expressed sincere appreciation for UCAS’s thoughtful arrangements and introduced the background of the visit as well as the overall situation of GSCAEP’s graduate education.
Following the introductions, Ren Yingzhi, Director of the Admissions Office; Gang Wang, Director of the Student Affairs Office; Wenguo Yang, Director of the Training Office; Yanhui Li, Supervisor of the Degree Office; Hongwu Chang, Director of the Graduate Career Services Center; and Hongyu Liu, Director of the Alumni Office, each delivered focused presentations aligned with the research outline. Their reports covered admissions, student management, academic and training processes, degree awarding, career development, and alumni relations. Both sides engaged in in-depth discussions and exchanges across various aspects of graduate education.
Through this visit, GSCAEP gained valuable insights into UCAS’s systematic and standardized management framework for graduate education. The experience provides meaningful reference for further optimizing GSCAEP’s own training system and enhancing management effectiveness, while also laying a solid foundation for deepening cooperation and exchange between the two institutions in the future.
Deputy Dean Jianhui Shan, along with leaders and relevant staff members from the General Office, the Admissions and Training Office, the Student Affairs Office (also the Party Committee Office), the Scientific Research Planning Office, and the Education–Research Collaboration Office, participated in the visit.
