Fire safety is the “lifeline” of research, work, and study. To thoroughly implement General Secretary Xi Jinping’s important instructions on emergency management and fire prevention, and to actively respond to the theme of the 2025 National Fire Safety Awareness Month—“Fire Safety for All, Life First: Safe Use of Fire and Electricity”—the Graduate School of China Academy of Engineering Physics (GSCAEP) organized synchronized fire safety drills across its Beijing and Sichuan campuses in November 2025. The initiative aimed to further enhance fire safety awareness and emergency response capabilities among faculty members and students.

At the Beijing Software Park campus, GSCAEP (Beijing Division) simulated a fire scenario in the north section of the Software Park building, organizing an orderly evacuation of personnel to designated safe areas. The school invited the Haidian District Fire Rescue Brigade to deliver a lecture on fire safety. On-site activities included simulated smoke-escape training, hands-on practice with fire extinguishers, and demonstrations of firefighting equipment.

At the Mianyang Science City campus, GSCAEP (Sichuan Division) invited the CAEP professional fire brigade to provide a fire prevention training session. A simulated fire drill was conducted in the graduate student dormitory, followed by an organized evacuation to a safe area. After evacuation, participants engaged in fire simulation chamber escape training and hands-on demonstrations and practice of fire extinguisher use.

The fire safety drills received broad participation from GSCAEP faculty and students, significantly improving awareness of fire prevention and strengthening emergency response, self-rescue, and mutual-aid capabilities in the event of a fire. Moving forward, GSCAEP will continue promoting the normalization and standardization of fire safety practices, firmly reinforcing the safety barrier and fostering a safe and harmonious environment for all faculty members and students.
