In 2023, the China Academy of Engineering Physics (CAEP) celebrates its 65th anniversary. To deepen the learning and education of the "Two Bombs" spirit, and to pay tribute to the revolutionary predecessors who made contributions to the development of China's nuclear industry, the Graduate School organized a theme education activity on the "Seeking Roots, Remembering the Path, Inheriting, and Achieving in the New Era" during the 3rd Outstanding Doctoral Forum. The activity took place on June 18 at the "Two Bombs City" in Zitong County.

Upon entering the "Two Bombs City," the faculty and students first visited the former residence of Mr. Jiaxian Deng. In front of the statue of Mr. Jiaxian Deng, the faculty and students stood in line, listened to the guide's introduction of Mr. Jiaxian Deng 's life, and reviewed that remarkable era. They sang the national anthem together, paid tribute to the statue, and laid a flower basket as a sign of respect and remembrance for Mr. Jiaxian Deng.

In front of the sculpture of Mr. Jiaxian Deng, Libin Fu, Vice President of the Graduate School (responsible for administrative work), encouraged the graduate students. He reminded them that 65 years ago, China's nuclear weapons program originated from No. 6, Huayuan Road, Beijing. Today, 65 years later, they visited the "Two Bombs City" starting from No. 6, Huayuan Road, to revisit the stories of the older generation of scientists. As students of the Ninth Academy, he urged them to not only excel in scientific and cultural knowledge and refine their research abilities but also deeply comprehend the "Two Bombs" spirit of the older generation of the Ninth Academy, which is characterized by patriotism, dedication, collaborative problem-solving, practical innovation, and the pursuit of excellence. He encouraged them to become socialist builders who possess both morality and talent, as well as inheritors of the "Two Bombs" spirit.

Subsequently, the faculty and students visited the "Two Bombs History Museum." Through the guide's explanations, they relived the arduous process of China's development of nuclear weapons, learned about the love and dedication of the older generation of scientific and technological workers to the country's nuclear cause, and felt their loyalty to the motherland and personal responsibilities. The dedication shown by these pioneers not only allowed the faculty and students to deeply appreciate the value of the "Two Bombs" spirit but also greatly inspired and motivated them to carry forward the spirit of patriotism and the "Two Bombs."

We held this educational activity to educate and inspire the students of the Ninth Academy, to never forget their original intentions and missions, to learn from the older generation of scientific and technological workers, to practice and inherit the great spirit of the "Two Bombs," and to strive unremittingly, continuously dedicating their efforts to build a socialist modern powerful country and achieve the great rejuvenation of the Chinese nation as part of the Chinese Dream!
