To assist the 2022 graduate students who have returned to their training units in smoothly transitioning to the research training phase, integrating into the new environment, and mastering research methods, the Graduate School organized a two-day "Transfer and Training Phase Education Activity" from September 18th to 19th. The education activity consisted of lecture training and on-site visits. The lecture segment was conducted through video conferences at the main venue in Beijing and Sichuan Graduate School, as well as branch venues in Jiangyou, Chengdu, and Shanghai. For the on-site visits, students from Mianyang went to the "Two Bombs City" for practical teaching. The education activity was presided over by Jiwei Li, the Director of the Student Affairs Office of the Graduate School.

At the beginning of the conference, Jialiang Ni, the Secretary of the Party Committee of the Graduate School, delivered a speech. Secretary Ni warmly congratulated the 2022 graduate students on successfully completing the previous phase of coursework and returning to their respective research training units for the research training phase. He expressed earnest hopes, encouraging the students to be inspired by the "Two Bombs Spirit," strengthen their convictions, persevere in their efforts, and guide them to face opportunities and challenges. He urged them to integrate their personal values into the grand cause of national development and realize their lofty ideals. Secretary Ni emphasized the importance of students valuing confidentiality and security, and adhering to rules and regulations. In conclusion, Secretary Ni extended his best wishes for the students' academic success, good health, and happy lives.

Teachers from the Graduate School, including Xianwen Zeng, Ke'en Zhou, Yanzhen Zhang, and others, provided detailed information on various aspects such as the later stage of graduate education, the conferral of graduate degrees, student management, rules and regulations, as well as student party organizations, groups, and club activities. This comprehensive guidance aimed to assist graduate students who are about to enter the research training phase.

Senior outstanding doctoral students Haipeng Di and Yuteng Cao shared their experiences with fellow students in areas such as learning, research training, thesis writing, and life.

To enhance the mental health education level of the students such that they can better adapt to the new stage of scientific research training, the Graduate School has invited Director Bin Xiao from the Mental Health Education Center of the University of Chinese Academy of Sciences. He delivered a psychological health lecture titled "Adjusting Mindset, Building a New Tutorial Relationship" for the students. The lecture focused on changes in the external environment, task content, and interpersonal relationships, exploring the value and meaning of self-existence, and attempting new methods. It aims to guide students in managing various relationships, adjusting their mindset, and actively coping with potential psychological conditions.

For this event, Associate Researcher Haibing Guo, a master's supervisor from the Second Institute, was invited to conduct a lecture titled "From Graduate Student to Researcher: Casual Talks on Important Matters in the Thesis Stage" for the students. Drawing on his personal experience of engaging in scientific research training at the China Academy of Engineering Physics and becoming a core member of scientific research, Professor Guo guided students on how to excel in the research paper stage of graduate studies. He shared insights on finding the right value positioning and enhancing research capabilities.

Captain Ning Tian of the Criminal Police Brigade at the Scientific City Sub-bureau of Mianyang Public Security Bureau personally handled cases and shared examples occurring around everyone. He presented common methods of telecommunications and online fraud, along with preventive measures. Additionally, he conducted an anti-drug knowledge outreach. Captain Tian advised and reminded students to remain vigilant, guard against falling victim to scams, and cautioned them to be careful. He also urged students to warn their family and friends to avoid being deceived. In case of any issues, he emphasized the importance of seeking help from teachers or law enforcement promptly.

On the afternoon of the 19th, the Graduate School organized students to visit the Two Bombs City for a field teaching activity with the theme "Promoting the Spirit of Two Bombs and Making Achievements in the New Era." The program included paying respects at the former residence of Jiaxian Deng, visiting the exhibition hall to understand the development process of the Two Bombs, and participating in on-site teaching activities such as education on three defenses (defense of ideology, politics, and organization) and integrity culture.
