The name Lei Feng is well-known throughout China, and his deeds are deeply embedded in the hearts of the people. The spirit of Lei Feng has nurtured generations of Chinese sons and daughters. Practical experience has shown that no matter how times change, the essence of Lei Feng's spirit endures. On the occasion of the 61st National Learn from Lei Feng Day and the 25th China Youth Volunteer Service Day, the Graduate School, in collaboration with the Youth League Committees of nine institutes and the First District Brother Units in Beijing and Sichuan, organized youth volunteer service activities.

01 Community Volunteer Activities
On the morning of March 2nd, the Communist Youth League of the First District of CAEP, in conjunction with the Chunhua Community Residents' Committee, carried out the "Warm Spring Breeze, Youth Continuity" Lei Feng Volunteer Service Activity in the Science City Fourth District. Graduate School youth actively participated in this initiative.
Based on the actual needs of community residents, various community service projects were conducted. The youth volunteers from the Graduate School arrived early at the Party-Mass Service Center Square in Science City Fourth District and began their volunteer work. They picked up cigarette butts, plastic bags, and other white trash in public areas of the community, contributing to the community's sanitation and civility efforts.

02 Donation of Old Items and Recycling of Expired Medicines
On March 6th, the Communist Youth League of CAEP’s Beijing District organized the "Carrying Forward the Spirit of Lei Feng and Gathering Strength for Progress" volunteer service activity in the New and Old Districts of the Ninth Institute, the Software Park Campus of the Graduate School, and the Taying Campus.
Graduate School youth were primarily responsible for collecting old clothes, books, and expired medicines. The activity was very lively, with teachers and students who had learned about the event in advance bringing their donations and forming long queues at the booths. Soon, old clothes, books, and expired medicines filled more than ten large bags and five or six cartons. The collected clothes and books were donated to the China Charity Federation, promoting the reuse of idle items and the spread of goodwill. Expired medicines were transported by the infirmary to designated medical waste and expired medicine recycling stations.

03 Online Exhibition Viewing
To better learn and carry forward the spirit of Lei Feng, the Graduate School organized students to participate in online tours of the Hunan Lei Feng Memorial Hall and the Fushun Lei Feng Memorial Hall digital exhibitions, as well as to watch the documentary "Lei Feng" and related special programs. Through these exhibitions and documentaries, students gained a detailed understanding of the brilliant deeds of Lei Feng’s ordinary yet great life, deepening their comprehension of the profound connotations of Lei Feng’s spirit.

04 Promoting the Spirit of Volunteerism
Promotional efforts were actively carried out through official WeChat accounts, posters, and other means to widely publicize Lei Feng’s steadfast belief in loving the Party and the country, and his spirit of selfless service. This guided young people to actively participate in volunteer activities.

The spirit of Lei Feng is something everyone can learn; acts of kindness can be performed everywhere. Through this activity, the graduate student volunteers learned and promoted the spirit of Lei Feng. In subsequent work, the Graduate School Youth League Committee will continue to take volunteer service as an effective means of practical education, integrating volunteer service into daily life and making it a regular activity. Relying on platforms such as the Volunteer Association, the Youth League Committee, and Volunteer Beijing, they will actively carry out large-scale, organized, and regular volunteer service activities. This will educate, develop skills, and contribute to the community through volunteer service, allowing the spirit of Lei Feng to shine even more brightly in the new era.
